Biography
Dan has been an avid tennis player and coach for over 40 years. He is an RSPA professional, a USTA Level 1 certified coach, Safe Play certified, and a regular USTA league competitor at the 4.0 NTRP level. Dan is also an enthusiastic pickleball player.
He has been instrumental in developing the Broomfield Police Department’s pickleball program, organizing a 20‑player tournament in 2025 and helping establish the department’s Pickleball Committee, which now has multiple events planned for 2026.
Dan and Brian met over 20 years ago through their work running chess clubs at Marrama, Green Valley, and Amesse Elementary Schools. Together they hosted the “Rumble in the Ranch” chess tournament. During this time, Dan discovered Brian’s natural talent for tennis.
